Inductors

Exxelia offers inductors in standard and high-grade technologies capable of withstanding harsh environments for many applications: circuit protections against high current peaks (Surge Coil), filtering and noise cancellation, energy storage, resonant circuit
Exxelia’s solutions can be catalog or custom products based on a customer’s specific requirement.

Exxelia has 4 ESA qualified series :  SESI , MSCI,  CMC and CCM.
Custom inductors are designed using qualified building blocks and long Exxelia heritage.

Exxelia has the expertise for designing specific PFC (Power Factor Correction) choke/inductor taking up the challenge of reconstructing signals at both low (often sinusoidal) and high (for switching) frequencies. The model used enables to assess saturation levels and copper and iron losses, taking eddy currents into account, with good accuracy at both frequencies.

Exxelia has strong knowledge in interphase inductor design.

Exxelia shows also  strong know-how in designing and producing transformers, electrical motors and electromagnets.

Frequently Asked Questions

productCategory.section3.subTitle
What is an inductor ? For what application ?

An Inductor is nothing else but a wound coil, which smoothes the current flow or stores the electrical energy.

Functions :

  • Circuit protections against high current peaks (Surge Coil)
  • Smoothing the current flow : Filtering and noise cancellation
  • Energy transfer in converters
  • Impedance adaptation in LLC

Type of inductors from our range :

  • Filtering Chokes (Mainly Power)
  • Differential Mode Choke
  • Power Factor Correction (PFC)
  • Interphase Inductor for “400Hz” Power Supply
  • Common Mode Choke (CMC) for EMC

Benefits of Low Resistance and Low Self Inductance

Two major benefits of film capacitors comes from the fact that they have low equivalent series resistance and low self inductance. Due to these properties, they can be designed to withstand voltages in the kilovolts. Power film capacitors take these benefits even farther and can withstand reactive power over 200 volt amperes in charge.

These types of benefits make them very attractive overall to a wide variety of different types of industries all over the world. Constructions costs can be slashed even farther through the use of special materials.

Are Exxelia's magnetic components compliant with industry standards?

Yes, Exxelia's magnetic components are designed and manufactured to meet or exceed industry standards and certifications, including RoHS, REACH, and MIL-STD.
