Tantalum capacitors are renowned for their superior charge capacity per volume, coupled with exceptional reliability and durability. Exxelia specializes in both solid and wet tantalum capacitors, offering a range of configurations including through-hole and surface-mount device (SMD) versions.
Our solid tantalum capacitors, featuring manganese dioxide (MnO2) cathodes, are available in metal hermetically sealed packages and molded cases, supporting axial, radial, and SMD configurations. Exxelia has led advancements in reducing equivalent series resistance (ESR) through the use of polymer cathodes. This innovation not only ensures a safe failure mode by preventing thermal ignition but also achieves higher capacitance values and significantly lower ESR. Our solid polymer tantalum capacitors are exclusively available in SMD formats.
In addition to these, Exxelia offers wet tantalum capacitors designed for high-temperature applications up to 200°C, making them particularly suitable for the demanding environments of the oil and gas industry.
